Hi there!
I’m Poppy and I’m based in Cumbernauld, Scotland, surrounded by hills and nature. I have been creating sustainable silver jewellery for 3 years and I love creating one-of-a-kind nature pieces.
Learn a little more about me and Silver & Fern below.

My Story
I started creating jewellery in the July of 2021 with a little soldering iron and a small coil of silver wire. I initially made simple fidget rings and stacking rings but I soon found a love for capturing nature in silver. I loved the idea of capturing a leaf or flower in time and turning it into a wearable piece of nature to last forever, so I started to take imprints of these and make them into beautiful silver jewellery. It's a little slice of nature you can wear everywhere you go!

My Ethos
Each piece of jewellery is handmade in my home studio with care and attention. I love what I do and I believe this is reflected in the quality of the jewellery I create.
I love the idea of a little piece of nature you can wear daily, created with nature, but without harming it. I source my leaves and flowers from the floor beds of forests or woodland walks, having naturally fallen from the main plant.
I have signed the pledge 'Handmade and Well Paid' with the Jewellers academy, so you can be sure I pay myself a living wage and don't under or overchaarge for my pieces of work.

Sustainability
I aim to be as sustainable as possible and I am always striving to improve aspects of the business. I use recycled silver and gold for all of my creations, along with ethically mined/sourced gemstones.
All of the packaging I use, from the box to the packing filler to my business card, everything is eco-friendly. All aspects of my packaging are either reused, recyclable (and recycled!) or biodegradable. For the first 3 years of Silver & Fern I made a monthly donation to Ecologi to offset my carbon emissions and plant trees. I planted a tree for each order I received and hit a milestone of 500 trees planted!
